Perform duties required to load and unload trucks delivering supplies and parts. Place material in staging area, maintain records of materials received, and move materials throughout the shop as necessary.
A Material Handler will start at $20.91/hr. and reaches $26.93/hr. within 12 months!
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload trucks carrying, weighing, counting, and moving raw materials, supplies, and finished parts, using a forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
- Complete shop orders and bills of lading on shipments.
- Weigh in parts and verify receipt against paperwork.
- Inspect incoming work for proper packaging and/or damage.
- Process incoming and outgoing UPS shipments.
- Enter incoming shipment information into computer and on appropriate forms, and complete daily received goods sheet.
- Respond to customer service requests for shipping information, as well as customer inquiries concerning parts.
- Assist operators and helpers in locating parts.
- Prepare pallets and containers for shipment.
- Organize areas in the plant to optimize material flow and keep the plant orderly.
