Primary mission:
To assist the Controller/Director of Finance in the Accounting Office & assist Purchasing Director/Manager pertaining to all computerized accounting systems, month-end closing reports and general ledger reconciliation. Records all business transactions and retains all accounting records. Posts, verifies, and reconciles accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, payroll, or other ledger accounts. Assists in preparing financial operations reports and will be AP Supervisor. Will also assist our purchasing manager with storeroom functions and be the property procurement specialist. Will work with department leaders with checkbook accounting and cost.
SCOPE OF WORK + TEAM

As the Staff Accountant, you will:
· Perform general ledger accounting, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring all financial transactions are accurate and properly recorded
· Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
· Handle accounts payable and receivable processes, including processing invoices, ensuring timely payments, and managing collections
· Reconcile bank accounts and perform monthly close processes
· Support the preparation of the company’s annual budget and periodic financial forecasts
· Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal accounting policies
· Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper financial support and analysis
· Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review
· Maintain accurate and organized financial records
SCOPE OF WORK + ONGOING EVERYDAY TASKS
· Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes
· Process payroll-related entries and maintain payroll accounting records
· Support special financial projects and initiatives as assigned
· Review and reconcile expense reports and credit card transactions
· Monitor cash flow and report on variances from expected results
· Assist with filing taxes and other regulatory filings as required
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
· 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
· Performs well under pressure
· Good communicator, both written and Verbal
