Position Overview: Houseperson
As a Houseperson at The Ozarker Lodge, you play a key supporting role in our housekeeping and guest experience teams. You help ensure public areas, guest room hallways, and back-of-house spaces are clean, well-stocked, and ready for our guests and staff. You’re an extra set of hands—and eyes—for our room attendants, helping keep operations flowing smoothly and guests feeling taken care of. You’ll also assist with special requests, food & beverage service during our fire pit experiences, and occasional setting up for group stays or events.
This is a great fit for someone who takes pride in being helpful, doesn’t mind staying active, and enjoys working in a beautiful outdoor-leaning environment with a close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of guest corridors, stairwells, lobby restrooms, and other public areas throughout the day
- Collect used linens, trash, and recycling from housekeeping closets and guest areas and deliver to proper facilities
- Restock housekeeping closets and carts with linens, amenities, and supplies
- Respond to guest and team member requests promptly and in a friendly, courteous manner
- Deliver items to guest rooms as requested (e.g., rollaway beds, extra towels, cribs, etc.)
- Assist room attendants as needed, especially during high occupancy days
- Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or guest complaints to the Housekeeping Manager
- Support delivery and service of food and beverage items during special experiences like our evening fire pit packages
- Complete Missouri SMART alcohol training and obtain a Missouri food handler permit (The Ozarker Lodge will provide assistance in obtaining these certifications)
- Occasionally help with setups for group bookings, events, or seasonal lodge experiences (like firepit prep or s’mores kits)
- Embrace and model a team-first attitude while upholding The Ozarker Lodge’s brand and service standards
Requirements:
- Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Positive, guest-first mindset with a strong attention to detail
- Able to communicate clearly and respectfully with team members and guests
- Willingness to complete Missouri SMART alcohol training and obtain a Missouri food handler permit (we'll help you with both)
- Availability to work weekends and holidays, based on business needs
