Job Summary:
The Director of Operations position is the key command and responsibility role within the plant structure. The Director of Operations is ultimately accountable for driving safety protocols, providing leadership, vision, strategic, and tactical plans and implementation tools within the plant, primarily focused on the overall safety, profitability, and success of the entire operational structure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist safety training and the proper use of protective equipment, by ensuring all employees are following safety rules and company code of conduct.
- Has an appreciation for timeliness, quality, and punctuality. This includes following all rules and regulations, including safety, attendance, breaks, time off, and etc. established by management.
- Responsible for maintaining the organization, safety, and cleanliness of the plant and all surrounding areas.
- Responsible for populating and managing all departments and teams that exists within the organizational structure as defined by the overall fiscal performance of the facility. This includes the production, process assurance, maintenance, administration, customer service, process engineering, laboratory, and waste management teams as defined by the organization structure.
- Serves as the prime communicator, motivator, mentor, and director of all plant activities, employees, and departments. Ability to work well with corporate and business unit Sr. Management staff, and fellow plant managers, to develop and implement key business unit strategies. Must have a thorough understanding of company goals and business models as dictated by Chief Operations Officer.
- Excellent understanding of business performance metrics, which includes all profit, loss, and quality aspects of managing the business. Ability to react quickly and competently as business climates change, which will include adding or subtracting staff and/or equipment and processes.
- You will have a complete and thorough understanding of the computer database system as it relates to customer issues of pricing, quantity, and accounting paperwork required to process order within Pentagon Technologies. Well defined and practiced computer skills and proficiency in email, word processing, and spreadsheet functionality.
- A thorough understanding of plant operations and structure, as well as the ability to interpret queries and comments to assure that customer related issues are directed to the correct department and resources.
- Responsible for the overall quality and efficiency of the product being processed within the assigned plant. Must possess a good understanding of process development, process improvement, and quality standards. Acts as Management Quality Representative of ISO-9000 business practices within the confines of the Quality System.
- Excellent English verbal and writing skills. Ability to express requirements and desires in a clear, concise, and informative manner.
- Ability to perform under pressure, and the ability to handle and/or resolve conflict in a professional and courteous manner. Must possess excellent customer relationship and people skills.
- Must work well with both internal and external customers. Regional DOOs shall be responsible to engage with customers and participate in site level audits.
