- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two plus years of related experience and or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Technical certificate, associate degree in a related field, and/or experience in chemical plant maintenance is preferred. At the discretion of the Facilities Manager, parts of this requirement may be waived.
- A thorough understanding of production plant systems to include but not limited to power generation, filtration, electrical, compressed gases, heating / cooling, pumps, piping, pneumatics, hydraulics, blowers / fans, chemical media delivery, and forklift / material handling equipment.
- Willing and able to work non-production hours as necessary.
- Must be able to multitask and work under stress.
- Must possess strong reading, communication, and comprehension abilities.
- Ability to fill out log sheets, write routine reports and correspondence.
- Basic computer skills including the ability to accurately generate, edit, retrieve, and print Word and Excel documents.
Safety:
Employee has been (will be) trained and is to meet and assure that all safety requirements of Pentagon Technologies are followed while performing assigned duties within the plant. A good understanding and consistent use of appropriate PPE, basic maintenance safety regulations such as lock out/tag out policies, removing or repairing inadequate or potentially unsafe equipment, and recognizing unsafe practices that may be occurring within the plant environment and reporting same to operational staff are required.
Work Environment:
Must be able to function well in an industrial environment. Must be able to perform in hot, humid, noisy, moist, or wet environments utilizing standard protection devices. Must be able to climb ladders, work on rooftops, and use scaffolding to perform essential tasks. Must be able to handle the necessary tools to perform tasks, including a variety of wrenches, meters, sensors, fluid and or air/gas monitors, and heavy equipment.
Physical Demands:
Must Pass Company required screening tests. Must be able to pass respirator health and fit testing. Must be in reasonably fit condition to climb tank ladders in waste treatment areas. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach with hands and arms, and perform light lifting duties (up to 50 pounds) without assistance, push or pull heavy loads (up to 750 lbs) with basic material handling equipment, and perform continuous walkthroughs in the production and service areas.
