JOB DESCRIPTION- Co-Controller - Accountant

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Co-Controller will play a key role in the company’s financial matters and will assist the Controller in managing all aspects of the financial operations. Reporting directly to the VP to work side by side with our current Controller who will share the duty of leading the accounting & financial reporting function. The . Controller must be an individual with the highest integrity who can challenge business decisions to ensure that what is done is best for the company.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the administration including:

  • Accounting & financial reporting
  • Receivables & customer billing
  • Tax compliance
  • Financial policies
  • Accounting software systems & chart of accounts
  • Implement and maintain strong internal control environment.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements, including sales & use tax.
  • Prepare journal entries and manage interfaces from other accounting systems to the general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly management reports and ad hoc analyses.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Liaison with the external auditors and manage the annual audit/review and tax returns preparation.
  • Assist the Controller to provide the information necessary for all department heads to have the tools which are necessary for them to manage the financial aspects of their department.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings.

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to work onsite during the business hours of Monday – Friday 8am-5:00pm.
  • Overtime & weekend work may be required during peak reporting periods.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 10+ years of accounting experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Solid MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, etc.).
  • Extensive experience with QuickBooks or similar systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a high growth environment.
  • Note that duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned.
  • Supervisory experience is a plus

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s s degree required
  • C.P.A. required
  • Master’s degree in accounting/finance preferred
