Experienced Union Automotive Service Technician

Liberty Ford Aurora is seeking an Experienced Automotive Service Technician to join our award-winning service department in Aurora. This is a union position ideal for a highly skilled, certified technician who excels at diagnosing and repairing Ford vehicles across all systems. Job Description

• Perform accurate, efficient vehicle repairs in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues across all vehicle systems.
• Communicate effectively with parts and service teams.
• Conduct road tests and safety inspections.
• Document all work performed and recommended services.
• Maintain the cleanliness and care of customer vehicles.
• Follow safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
• Operate tools and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Participate in ongoing training and stay up to date on technical bulletins.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive repair or service.
• ASE certifications preferred in one or more of the following:
  • Electrical/Electronic Systems
  • Manual Drive Train and Axles
  • Brakes
  • Automatic Transmission and Transaxle
  • Heating and Air Conditioning
  • Engine Performance
  • Suspension and Steering
  • Engine Repair
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver’s license meeting dealership insurability requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Strong verbal communication and basic math skills.
• Must possess the tools required for repairs and services.

Technician Classifications

Technicians are classified based on training completed and documented through STARS, which is then represented by manufacturer warranty codes they are eligible to perform.

A - Electrical, Steering, Suspension, Brakes, HVAC, Electronics, Transmission, Drivability

B - Electrical, Steering, Suspension, Brakes, HVAC, Electronics

C - Electrical, Steering, Suspension, Brakes

Physical Requirements

• Walking/Standing for 6 to 8 hours in a shift
• Using hand and/or power tools and equipment consistent with industry standards
• Bending, stretching, lifting, reaching, and climbing
• Lifting to 70lbs.
• Possess physical and manual dexterity
