Job Title: Accountant
Location: Omaha, NE wtih limited travel to Yankton, SD

Job Summary: The accountant supports financial operations through accurate reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards and payroll regulations, assists with audits, and contributes to process improvements and special projects. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience in payroll accounting, and proficiency with Excel and ERP systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform and support financial accounting and reporting activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, month end close activities, and financial reporting & analysis
- Support month end close
- Audit and regulatory support for various Financial and Regulatory areas
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure regulatory compliance and financial integrity
- Participate in special projects and initiatives including acquisitions, integrations, and process improvements
- Review payroll calculations, deductions, and adjustments to ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and regulations
- Coordinate with HR, finance, and other departments to gather and verify payroll-related information, such as new hires, terminations, benefits, and timekeeping data
- Reconcile payroll reports, filings, and other documents to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Stay updated on payroll regulations, tax laws, and trends to ensure compliance and best practices
- Performing other accounting duties and Controller as required

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA/CMA a plus
- 3-7 years of relevant accounting experience, including 2 years of Payroll accounting experience
- Manufacturing company experience preferred
- Highly skilled with Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team environment
