Direct Support Professional - Liverpool

A wonderful young woman who resides in own her home in the Liverpool area is looking for a Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) to work with her. She loves to be on the go and in the community, so she is looking to work with someone who can provide her with the support she needs to be able to access her community. Additionally, she is looking forward to working on her goals of exploring her creativity through art, living an active life, making social connections, and being able to make her own choices. She has many interests and is kind and caring with great supports, family and caregivers in place. She needs some assistance with personal care and daily living tasks, getting out and about, and communication due to hearing loss. She is great to know and enhances the lives of others. 

Her ideal candidate for the DSP position is reliable, energetic, comfortable providing some personal care and support to someone who can struggle with emotional regulation, and has some experience working with people who have special needs.

Hours and days of work

Monday (9 AM - 5 PM)

Full-time opportunities may be available. 

Pay rate: $21.00/per hour when providing direct support. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $15 per hour. 

Location: Liverpool, NY

• Education & Experience: GED or High School Diploma preferred. Applicable job experience preferred.
• Desired Skills and Abilities: previous experience working 1:1 in a related service environment preferred. Knowledge of disability related issues preferred.
• Other: The individual does not have the authority to set the staff salary in this model. The Mentor is paid at the provider’s rate for the service based on an assessment of the specific support needs of the individual in the areas of behavioral support, communication support, and physical support needs.
