SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants must be certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) and eligible for licensure in the state of Kentucky
- A Master’s degree and previous collegiate athletic training experience is preferred
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication, multitasking, and budget management skills in addition to knowledge of the NCAA
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask
- Proficiency in Microsoft word, Excel, and Power Point
- Knowledge of and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations
- Understanding of and/or willingness to learn an NCAA Division III academic and sports culture
- A strong background in professional athletic training
- Past work with student-athletes at the high school and/or collegiate level
- Commitment to inclusiveness and collegiality in personal and professional work and mentoring students and faculty on the importance of multicultural and multidisciplinary applications
- Commitment and alignment with Spalding University’s Mission is essential
- Regular or daily contact with administration, faculty, staff, and students.
- Regular contact with the general public.
- Must be able to work with, listen to, appreciate, and collaborate and lead with diverse populations
- An understanding and ability to apply and enforce university Covid-19 and NCAA protocols
INTERRELATIONS
- Working closely and communicating often and openly with the Head Athletic Trainer (the position’s supervisor)
- Ability to listen to, take direction and guidance from, and be held accountable by the Head Athletic Trainer
- The ability to effectively communicate with and solve problems for diverse groups, including prospective or current students, fellow counselors and support staff, alumni, and other constituencies
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an environment characterized by large workloads, deadline pressures and high-performance standards.
