Position Summary:

Spalding University is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Associate Director of Admissions to support the Director of Admissions in leading the daily operations of the admissions team. This position plays a key leadership role in managing recruitment activities, overseeing team performance, and ensuring the seamless execution of our admissions strategy to support institutional enrollment goals.

The Associate Director will supervise frontline admissions counselors and staff, provide training and mentorship, and partner across departments to deliver a student-centered experience from inquiry through enrollment. This role requires a hands-on leader who is results-driven, tech-savvy, and committed to advancing access and equity in higher education.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Provide daily supervision and support to the undergraduate and/or transfer admissions staff, including setting goals, monitoring performance, and conducting regular check-ins.
  • Assist in the hiring, training, and professional development of admissions counselors and support staff.
  • Oversee day-to-day application processing, outreach, and follow-up to ensure timely and effective communication with prospective students.
  • Coordinate the admissions team schedule, travel planning, and campus coverage.
  • Serve as the point of contact for escalated student concerns or operational issues.

Strategic Recruitment & Enrollment

  • Collaborate with the Director of Admissions to implement recruitment strategies that support university enrollment targets.
  • Utilize data and performance metrics to track funnel progress, drive counselor accountability, and adjust recruitment tactics as needed.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and assist with reporting and forecasting.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with campus partners (Financial Aid, Marketing, Student Life, Academic Affairs) to support prospective student engagement and a smooth transition from admission to enrollment.
  • Represent the Office of Admissions in internal meetings and on cross-functional committees as assigned.
  • Serve as a lead in planning and executing on-campus events such as open houses, admitted student days, and yield events.

Technology & Systems

  • Support Slate CRM use and data integrity; assist in troubleshooting or training as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of communication flows and student outreach plans.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in admissions or enrollment management.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising or mentoring staff in a results-driven environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with a CRM system (Slate preferred).
  • Ability to analyze data, problem-solve, and adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Passion for student-centered service, access, and equity in higher education.
