SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Director of Undergraduate Programs:
Required:
- Master of Science in Nursing required, Doctorate is preferred. If the Doctorate is not in nursing, master’s in nursing is required.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in administration in higher education in nursing.
- Five years of experience in nursing within the immediate past 7 years.
- Hold an active/unencumbered license as a registered nurse and be eligible for licensure in Kentucky or hold a compact license.
- Two years full time teaching experience at/above the level of the Program of Nursing.
- Current knowledge of nursing practice at level of the Program of Nursing.
- Demonstrated experience/preparation in education including teaching adults, adult learning theory teaching methods, curriculum development & evaluation.
- Program Administrator (PA) without previous PA experience shall have mentor assigned & developed educational plan. Mentor shall have documented experience in program administration.
- Maintains membership in local, state and national nursing and other professional organizations that will enhance the Mission of the University, the Vision and Outcomes of the School of Nursing.
INTERRELATIONS
- Regular or daily contact with administration, faculty, staff, and students.
- Regular contact with the general public.
- Must be able to work with, listen to, appreciate, and collaborate and lead with diverse populations.
