Position Overview
As a Cargo Aviation Captain at 7 Air, LLC, you will assume command of cargo aircraft, leading flight operations and ensuring the safe transportation of freight to various destinations. Your role is instrumental in upholding operational excellence, compliance with aviation regulations, and fostering a culture of safety and professionalism within the flight crew.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Monitor personal flight, duty, and rest activity to ensure compliance with 14 CFR Part 121.500
- Ensure readiness for duty by confirming Fit for Duty status via Flight Release.
- Maintain communication with the Flight Follower to address any irregularities that might affect legality.
- Provide updates on whereabouts post-crew-check-in to the Flight Follower.
- Be aware of possible schedule changes and the need for immediate Crew Scheduling notification.
- Assume command of cargo aircraft, overseeing all flight operations and ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct pre-flight inspections to assess aircraft airworthiness and readiness for flight.
- Coordinate with flight crew, ground staff, and air traffic control to facilitate efficient and safe flight operations.
- Perform takeoff, landing, and in-flight maneuvers with precision and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Monitor weather conditions, airspace restrictions, and other factors affecting flight safety, making informed decisions to ensure the safety of the aircraft and its cargo.
- Communicate effectively with flight crew, authorized personnel, and ground personnel to ensure smooth coordination during all phases of flight.
- Monitor fuel consumption, engine performance, and other critical systems, taking corrective action as necessary to maintain safe flight operations.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to co-pilots and other flight crew members, fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular briefings and debriefings with flight crew to review flight performance, discuss any issues or concerns, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain accurate flight logs, records, and reports in compliance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance skills, knowledge, and proficiency in aviation operations.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously in all interactions with clients and regulatory authorities.
