Description

This is a PART-TIME position (15 hours per week). This is not a remote job.


Job Summary:

 

Plays an active role in developing company fundraising promotions, donor retention strategies, and volunteer coordination. Works closely with the Creative Director and the Communications and Marketing Specialist to support donor retention and fundraising initiatives.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum 2-year degree in English, communications, journalism, marketing, business or related field, or;
  • Minimum 2-year experience with fundraising and donor retention
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Experience working with nonprofit agency
  • Experience developing and implementing capital campaign
  • Experience with project and/or program management
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Strong analytical and networking skills
  • Confident communication and decision-making skills
  • Detailed organizational skills
  • Exceptional awareness of privacy policies
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt and pick up new techniques
  • Self-starter who can work both independently and in team settings

 

Preferred Requirements:

 

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Experience in coordinating marketing and/or advertising campaigns
  • 4-year degree in English, communications, journalism, marketing, business or related field

Additional Requirements:

 

  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check
  • DD Specialty Training (required of all employees)

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Fundraising:
    • Collaborate with business and nonprofit partners on events and fundraising initiatives that support Cascade Connections
    • Support the planning and execution of Cascade Connections’ own fundraising events and activities
    • Develop direct mail campaigns to engage donors and supporters
    • Design and implement email marketing strategies for fundraising outreach
    • Facilitate peer-to-peer fundraising efforts to expand donor networks - Cultivate partnerships and sponsorships to enhance fundraising opportunities
    • Write compelling fundraising messages that inspire action and support
  • Donor Retention:
    • Research and identify prospective donors
    • Research and implement donor-retention best practices
    • Request and track donor/donation information, with help from the Financial Department
    • Compose and mail thank-you letters to donors
  • Volunteer Coordination:
    • Collaborate with the Creative Director and Executive Director to develop a volunteer program
    • Work with all departments within the agency to coordinate volunteer projects, facilities maintenance
    • Facilitate volunteer recruitment efforts through local networks
    • Develop volunteer training materials in collaboration with the Training Department
    • Attend monthly Volunteer Manager meetings facilitated by the Volunteer Center of Whatcom County

    • Staff recruitment and retention
    • Social media and digital marketing
    • Traditional marketing
    • Community development
