The Boat Donation Program Sales Lead is responsible for generating boat donations through partners and individual donors, evaluating potential donations and sales of donated vessels and/or boating equipment.
Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To

Actively promoting CBMM’s boat donations program using social media, various marketing tools, and direct outreach.

Monitor and field direct inquiries from donors about possible donations, and buyers about possible sales

Assess the quality and marketability of the vessels and determine if they meet BDP’s acceptance criteria

Expand the reach of BDP using tools such as sailboatlistings.com, craigslist and Facebook Marketplace to reach a broader audience to solicit both incoming and outgoing boats

Arrange transportation of accepted vessels to CBMM

Liaise closely with the BDP Administrative Assistant to ensure that marketing information, donation paperwork and sales paperwork is executed and organized

Become familiar with the processes of receiving donated boats and equipment as well as Maryland DNR title transfer and internal recordation

Oversee maintenance of BDP vehicles and equipment.

Actively participate in the advancement of BDP’s goals

Maintain a CRM of all contacts generated through BDP. Use this CRM data to regularly contact boat owners and buyers to keep the pipeline full.

Planning and organizing sales events with the assistance and support of the Events Team.

Overseeing the proper storage of inventory to ensure safety, minimize storage expense and showcase vessels.

Joint responsibility with shipyard staff for the management of all offsite storage facilities housing Boat Donation Program Vessels and equipment.

Develop, evaluate and manage the departmental budget

Responsible for creating sales plans and managing inventory levels to meet annual budget goal.

Responsible for the Department of Natural Resources Monthly sales report and for contributing to and reviewing internal weekly boat donation inventory and sales reporting.

Assist with vessel acquisition, pricing, and preparation for sale.

Coordinate marketing and sales with third party boat brokers.

Assuming such other duties as are necessary for the operation of CBMM or as assigned by the Vice President of Shipyard Operations, or the President/CEO.
This is a full-time, exempt position with an expected minimum work schedule of 40 hours per week. All staff are expected to be available to work a flexible schedule that will at times include evenings and weekends.
The Boat Donation Program Sales Lead is expected to be present for all special events / advancement functions unless otherwise arranged with the President and may be assigned to work in a capacity alternate to that defined.
**Compensation for this position includes a base salary and a sales incentive plan with additional earning potential of 10%+
