Description

The Residential Manager is responsible for overall management and operation of one or more residential homes and includes supervision of Lead Direct Support Professionals, and Direct Support Professionals. Responsibilities include:

I. BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Provide input for the Annual Operating Budget and Agency capital expenses.

B. Submit requisitions and purchase necessary items using proper agency procedure.

C. Manage budgeted hours for the setting, reducing or eliminating overtime whenever possible.

D. Monitor monthly house expenses.

II. STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Assist Human Resources with interviewing and hiring staff.

B. Assist with providing a safe working environment for employees. Investigate work related incidents, provide recommendations, and make necessary adjustments.

C. Responsible for conducting timely introductory, annual, and as needed staff performance evaluations.

D. Complete a staffing schedule that ensures proper coverage for the safety of the people in the home.

E. Responsible to work with manager and Human Resources when developing formal corrective action.

F. Conduct regular and productive staff meetings .

G. Verify staff hours worked to ensure accuracy.

H. Coverage of open shifts, as needed.

I. Instruct CPR, as required (if applicable).

III. TRAINING

A. Responsible for ensuring staff are properly trained including, but not limited to, van training, new employee orientation, and proper lifting and transferring of people receiving services.

B. Responsible for continuous employee training and observations on an ongoing basis.

C. Supervise, coach, train, and follow-up with staff to ensure they understand their role within the agency.

IV. INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Conduct audits at other homes, as assigned, to ensure proper accounting of individuals’ money.

B. Ensure individuals are making reasonable purchases and practicing good money management skills.

C. Inventory clothing and other personal belongings, as required.

D. Review Medical and Behavioral incident reports for follow-up action.

E. Assist individuals as necessary in arranging transportation supports.

F. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and Service Coordinators to ensure consistent support services.

G. Ensure people are receiving proper personal care.

H. Ensure people are receiving the appropriate medications, as required.

V. FACILITY RESPONSIBLITIES

A. Report all maintenance, hazardous conditions, repair needs, and ensure proper follow up.

B. Conduct emergency drills as required.

C. Maintain facilities upkeep and cleanliness.

D. Ensure facility has proper cleaners and equipment, as well as ensuring that staff is trained to use them.

VI. ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Attend Staff Meetings, Trainings, and In-services, as required.

B. Participate and provide input for Agency Committees, as assigned.

C. Comply with all ARSD, CQL, and Department of Health Guidelines and Regulations.

D. Ensure all required documentation for the individuals’ programs and for agency requirements is completed.

E. Other duties as assigned.

VII. MONITORING OF INDIVIDUAL SERVICES

A. Responsible for attending and providing input to key Individual Support Planning Meetings

B. Responsible for ensuring that staff are completing thorough and accurate assessments for individual goals and plans for the next year.

C. Responsible for assisting in coordination of individual activities and events throughout the year.

D. Responsible for assisting in assessment of individual adaptive training needs.

E. Ensure proper implementation and documentation for all behavioral and skills training objectives.

F. Responsible for ensuring individuals are receiving their proper dietary requirements.

G. Responsible for providing a safe and healthy home environment for people receiving services.

 

 

Qualifications

BA/BS Degree with two years experience working with people that have disabilities or equivalent experience and/or education required. Previous supervisory experience required. Driver’s license with safe driving record necessary. Must be able to lift and transfer, as required.
