Summary/Objective: The Planning and Materials Coordinator provides direct support to the Pouch team in all aspects related to production scheduling, supply purchasing, and production data entry.
Specific Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Purchase and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands
- Maintains purchasing documents, files, and records for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies
- Monitors spend; proactively seeks ways to reduce costs
- Generates and processes Purchase Orders (POs)
- Maintains filing system and updates records, as required
- Assists team members with resolving customer issues that need to be elevated to a higher level
- Monitors aged inventory and finished goods and assists with management and scrap dispositions
- Respond professionally in a timely manner to Customer Service or Sales inquiries.
- Schedules production work for daily shifts
- Audits daily production for complete and accurate production records.
- Distribute production schedules or work orders to the department
- Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables, to determine personnel or materials requirements or material priorities
- Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, customer service, sales, production, or engineering
- Confer with establishment personnel, vendors, or customer service/sales to coordinate production or shipping activities and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays
- Examine documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications
- Compile information, such as production rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used, or customer information, so that status reports can be completed
- Calculate figures, such as required amounts of labor or materials, manufacturing costs, using pricing schedules
- Maintain files, such as maintenance records, bills of lading, or cost reports
- Contact suppliers to verify shipment details
- Plan production commitments or timetables for business units, specific programs, or jobs, using sales forecasts
- Provide product construction directions and information on required tools, materials, equipment, and cost projections
