Rowmark Ski Academy and Junior Program Overview

Founded as a division of Rowland Hall in 1982, Rowmark Ski Academy is a rigorous, year-round alpine ski racing program, coupled with an extraordinary academic experience. Consistently recognized as one of the country’s top ski-racing academies, Rowmark was one of the first clubs designated for US Ski & Snowboard’s Gold Certification level and has turned out many Olympians, World Champions, and NCAA All-Americans. 

Rowmark Ski Academy athletes are full-time ninth through twelfth graders at Rowland Hall. Rowmark also offers a Junior Program, a three-tiered developmental program open to Rowland Hall students in third through eighth grades.

Rowmark athletes race in the Intermountain Division of US Ski & Snowboard and train at Utah Olympic Park and Park City Mountain Resort's 2002 Olympic Race Arena.


Position Summary

This role involves proactive engagement in all aspects of the Rowmark Junior program. This includes driving athletic development, ensuring clear team communication, leading athlete evaluations and tuning clinics, employing video analysis for improvement, overseeing team equipment maintenance, implementing program policies, and partnering with each athlete to establish process and performance goals.


Primary Job Responsibilities

Athlete Coaching and Development

  • Embrace and promote team philosophy regarding whole athlete development.
  • Embrace and promote team priorities of: Safety, Fun, Learning, Sportsmanship, and Competition.
  • Recognize and promote positive character traits within your athletes.
  • Design and implement a balanced plan of all mountain skiing and race preparation.
  • Utilize the US Ski and Snowboard Alpine Training System.
  • Host a fall parent meeting outlining expectations and goals.
  • Host a mid-season parent-coach conference to share athlete evals.
  • Host an end-of-season parent-coach conference to share athlete evals.
  • Upload and review videos on Sprongo, weekly.
  • Upload and review TeamSnap as needed.
  • Maintain training records.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with training venues and race sites.
  • Attend Holiday Break activities.
  • Coach dryland training in the Spring and Fall

Skills and Requirements

  • Alpine skier
  • Alpine coaching experience
  • Complete personal background check
  • Complete Safe Sport training
  • Review publications from US Ski and Snowboard and other related resources.
  • CDL Driver’s license

Additional Information

This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package included, beginning June 1, 2025, and reports to the Rowmark Junior Program Director.
