Title of Position: FWS - Campus Living “Bee” Project Assistant
Department Name, location of department: Campus Living, Work from The HIVE in McCormick Hall and an office space in Clark, with tasks extending into the halls
Purpose of Position: The Campus Living “Bee” Project Assistant supports the Campus Living department by assisting with Campus Living operations, special projects, administrative tasks, and creative tasks. This role is crucial for enhancing the residential experience by supporting administrative processes, providing excellent customer service, creating engaging visual materials for residence halls and events, managing the creative workspace known as The HIVE. One "Lead Bee" will also guide the team, manage resources, and serve as an expert on Campus Living processes.
General Campus Living “Bee” Project Assistant Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Support Housing Operations - Your First Priority
- Project Support
- Assist with Campus Living special projects (move-in/move-out, key management)
- Help track project progress and meet deadlines
- Prepare and organize project-related materials
- Administrative Support
- Perform general office duties, including filing, scanning, copying, and data entry
- Assist with maintaining and updating departmental records, databases, and digital files
- Communication & Outreach
- Respond to inquiries (in-person, phone, email) from students, parents, and staff, or direct them to the appropriate resources
- Support the department's efforts in promoting Campus Living processes and initiatives
Support Hall Initiatives, Visuals & Events - Your Most Common Daily Tasks
- Design & Maintain Visual Environments
- Create, produce, and manage a wide range of visual communication materials for Campus Living spaces (hall signs, decorations, bulletin board content, and digital social media posts)
- Support Department & Residential Events
- Prepare event supply kits, facilitation guides, checklists and marketing materials
- Provide on-site assistance for department-wide and large-scale residential events
- Manage The HIVE Supplies
- The HIVE is a creative workspace and supply room for Hall Initiatives, Visuals, & Events
- Oversee the inventory and upkeep of The HIVE workspace and supplies
- Serve as a knowledgeable expert during office hours, providing guidance on HIVE resources
Other Duties As Assigned

- Actively engage in staff and supervisor meetings, training sessions, and team development
Lead Campus Living “Bee” Project Assistant (Lead “Bee”) Job Duties and Responsibilities:
One Bee will serve in a Lead role, taking on additional responsibilities:
- Lead the Bee Team and Processes
- Uphold and promote the highest standards of integrity and responsibility
- Manage all HIVE and Bee resources and processes
- Providing essential training on them to other Bees and Campus Living leaders (RAs, RHA)
- Serve as a key resource for other Bees, providing guidance to support their task completion
- Be An Expert in Campus Living Processes & The HIVE
- Be knowledgeable on all Campus Living processes, systems, and resources.
- Be knowledgeable on all HIVE resources, managing the physical space and inventory.
- Serve as the go-to expert for all Campus Living processes & HIVE resources
- Coordinate the Bee Team
- Coordinate Bee staff meetings, including scheduling and setting agendas
- Coordinate the Bee schedule, including regular shifts, special events, and staff meetings
- Work with your supervisor to coordinate team development experiences

Working Conditions:
- Environment: “Bee” Project Assistants primarily work in the residence halls and Clark Hall, including typical office environments, The HIVE in McCormick Hall, community spaces, and traversing the exterior and interior of all halls. Some meetings or training will be in other campus buildings or online.
- Physical Requirements & Activities: Project Assistants must be able to complete medium physical work including, but not limited to, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, use of fingers, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing & repetitive motion.
