Position Overview:
The Lead QAD Programmer Analyst will oversee all aspects of development for Welbilt’s QAD ERP business applications globally. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with global business users and cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will lead internal developers and manage third-party consultants to ensure alignment with business processes and objectives.

This position will work remotely with occasional travel and report directly to the Director Business Applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate functional design documents into technical specifications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain QAD customizations, including browses, maintenance programs, reports, menus, and triggers.
  • Build and enhance AUX screens, forms, grids, and process flows based on business requirements.
  • Develop and support QAD AE/EE layer customizations, including business logic and UI elements.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot QAD performance issues across AUX, AE, and database layers.
  • Manage external developers and ensure adherence to project timelines and standards.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or 6+ years equivalent experience).
  • 8–10 years of experience developing for QAD ERP on a global scale.
  • Minimum 3 years in a lead QAD role.
  • Strong proficiency in Progress 4GL/ABL development.
  • Experience with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to write functional design documents and test plans.
  • Prior leadership experience managing internal and external development teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Fluent in English (Spanish or German is a plus).
  • Candidates must be a U.S. citizen and legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.

Technical Expertise:

  • QAD ERP (EE/AUX/SE) customization and optimization.
  • AUX Browse/Maintenance objects, sub-assemblies, grids, menus, and screen design standards.
  • Integration experience with EDI, Concur, Avalara, UPS/FedEx, and custom Web APIs.
  • Familiarity with AUX rule-based validations and event-driven scripting.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 5% domestically or internationally; valid passport required.
  • Ability to work full-time effectively in a remote environment.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or distribution environments preferred.
