Summary
This position provides support for implementation of activities in the Career Advancement department.   Assists department colleagues with carrying out efforts to meet objectives on organizational priorities with a focus on departmental contributions to advance professional development and learning strategy, membership strategy, operations strategy, and systems and data strategy for the Association. Supports operational needs for member volunteer groups and APTA leadership. Provides support with data entry and data reporting as appropriate including compliance documents.  Seeks out and supports opportunities for continuous quality improvement in department activities.  Effective champion of the Association vision, mission, and brand.


Essential Functions

  • Excellent customer service and member experience 
  • Learning Center auditing and reporting
  • Provides administrative support for the implementation of work plans related to respective activities of the Career Advancement department which align with organizational priorities and the Association’s scientific strategy, membership strategy, operation strategy, and systems and data strategy. 
  • Prepares required compliance forms as outlined below including, when applicable and appropriate, entering accurate information for timely submission of all required forms.
  • Provides support of the department operations, including opportunities to advance and gain efficiencies. 
  • Supports the Scientific Affairs team in the implementation of the programs, priorities, and projects in partnership with department director and staff colleagues.
  • Prepares, in consultation with Vice President, department level data which supports and aligns with the APTA data strategy.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; some college preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in working in a non-profit or business setting
  • Learning Management System (LMS) experience a plus
  • Project management skills a plus
  • Solid administrative skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Database management software applications experience
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team 
  • Must be proficient in MS Office, advanced Excel a plus; web-based applications
