Overview:

The Mercatus Center at George Mason University is seeking an Intern as part of our Academic and Student Programs team to assist with operations support, help with events, and ensure programs run smoothly. During their time with Mercatus ASP, the intern will have the opportunity to get a feel for the ins-and-outs of a non-profit organization, learn what teams work here, what they do, and how they do it. They will build a suite of hard skills in operations, such as inventory management, shipping, and project management, as well as software skills in tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Salesforce, and Pitney Bowes. Furthermore, interns will have the opportunity to contribute toward a specific, contained project that their manager will design with them, which will uniquely contribute to the organization in some manner, and will be tailored to provide experience in some skill, software, or topic in which the intern has an interest.

 

 

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Help with managing inventory, receiving and shipping materials, and data management.
  • Staff the front desk and helping ensure a clean and orderly office.
  • Support with running events for fellowships.
  • Assist scholars and staff with day-to-day tasks and projects.

Qualifications

  • Attention to detail.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Can work out of Fairfax, VA.
