Overview:

The Mercatus Center at George Mason University is seeking an Intern as part of our Urbanity team to assist scholars in researching housing policy. As part of an exciting team working on ground-breaking policy changes, they will be exposed to a growing area of economic and legal research and will grow their ability to network with other pro-housing organizations in Washington.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Urbanity scholars and research assistant on research projects
  • Read, understand, and summarize scholarship in urban economics, planning, and land use law
  • Read and summarize state legislation on housing policy
  • Facilitate scholar virtual conversations with policymakers interested in housing policy
  • Work on long-term projects with minimal supervision

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Enthusiasm to work on a wide range of topics
  • Strong interest in Mercatus' mission
