Description

The HRIS and Operations Specialist is responsible for managing internal systems and data, as well as assisting in managing the day to day operations of a busy HR Department. This role provides leadership and guidance regarding all HR data, onboarding and offboarding of staff, faculty and student workers. Works closely with payroll and finance and helps ensure that HR operations run smoothly and efficiently.

This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days on campus each week.

HRIS Key Responsibilities (65%)

Data Management:

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee data, including personal information, employment history, benefits, accruals and payroll details. 
  • Responsible for all data entry into the Paycom HRIS system.
  • Maintains position management by maintaining job title standards.

System Administration:

  • Manages Paycom HRIS, including job posting in the Paycom Applicant tracking system, onboarding new hires, offboarding, user access, security, and system maintenance. 
  • Provides technical assistance to end-users on how to use the Paycom Self Service. 

 

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Generating reports and conducting data analysis to support HR decision-making and compliance. 
  • Assist with compliance related reporting such as IPEDs
  • Audits the system regularly for security and compliance

 

System Optimization:

  • Identifying and implementing improvements to Paycom to enhance efficiency and workflow. 

Key Responsibilities: Operations (35%):

  • Create and implement policy around onboarding/offboarding of student workers and adjunct faculty
  • Manages onboarding process including background checks, required paperwork and activation in the HRIS system.
    • This includes all adjuncts and student workers as well.
  • Responsible for ensuring that hiring managers create position requisitions and other required paperwork/approvals before positions are posted
  • Manages off boarding process including exit interviews
  • Manages HR email inbox
  • Serves as DEI Ambassador for HR department
  • With AVP of Human Resources, monitor and analyze HR metrics and provide regular reports to senior management on HR operations and trends
  • Assist  Benefits and Wellness Manager with wellness initiatives as needed
  • Update and maintain HR Portal
  • Manage tuition waiver process
  • Manage personnel files

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources Operations/Generalist experience
  • 2 + years expert experience working in all aspects of HRIS systems required. Specific experience with Paycom a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze HR metrics and provide insights and recommendations
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Knowledge of Dynamic Forms a plus
