Assistant Brand Manager Job Summary: 

Pompeian is seeking a highly organized and digitally savvy Assistant Brand Manager to join the high performing Marketing Team! This role will play a key role in driving brand excellence across the digital shelf, supporting retail media execution, and enabling omnichannel marketing success to take Pompeian’s digital presence to the next level. This individual will also support Brand Communications to help evaluate various external partnerships, liaise with agencies, assemble selling decks, and execute sampling, donations, and sponsorships.  The ideal candidate is a competitive but collaborative leader who strives to take what we have and make it better.  The position is based in Baltimore, MD with 2-3 days in office. The role will report to the Brand Marketing Director. 

 

Assistant Brand Manager Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Nutritional/Food Science, or a related field
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in CPG marketing, eCommerce, or brand management
  • Strong technical skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint), with ability to combine inputs from multiple sources for decision making and reporting 
  • Comfortable working alongside employees of all levels of an organization 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively at all levels 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Proactive mindset and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Familiarity with CPG, the retail grocery industry customer base beneficial but not required  
  • Preferred skills: Proficient in Profitero, Salsify, or similar digital shelf; basic graphic design skills (Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Power BI 
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10%

Assistant Brand Manager Job Responsibilities: 

  • Own and manage the brand’s digital shelf presence across key eRetailers using tools like Profitero, Salsify, Syndigo, and Nielsen Brandbank
  • Conduct routine audits to ensure content accuracy, brand consistency, and compliance
  • Create ecommerce and mobile-optimized imagery and educational content for top eRetailers
  • Create and regularly update the Digital Shelf Scorecard to track content health, search performance, and competitive benchmarks
  • Support product review strategies and execution through sampling programs, consumer engagement, and 3P vendors
  • Monitor review sentiment and report insights back to brand and innovation teams
  • Analyze digital shelf metrics, retail media performance, and review sentiment using Excel, Power BI, and other analytic tools
  • Assist Digital Marketing Director in the planning and execution of retail media campaigns across Amazon, Walmart, Instacart, and other key customers
  • Partner with media agencies and sales teams to track performance and optimize programs based on ROI and KPIs
  • Develop high-quality PowerPoint decks and marketing materials that reflect brand strategy and performance
  • Offer data driven recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Partner closely with the Brand Communications Manager to support internal and external events, including company, PR initiatives, and internal events
  • Create PowerPoint presentations for various audiences
  • Send out sample boxes to influencers and manage sampling, donations, and supplies budgets
  • Lead sponsorships and donations initiatives
  • Lead company tours for external groups and be the on-site point of contact
  • Develop meeting agendas and send out follow up notes and action items to key stakeholders for IAT and status meetings
  • Ensure all projects comply with environmental regulations, and company environmental goals
  • Perform duties and tasks per Pompeian's mission, goals and core values
