Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
- A Bachelors Degree and three years general experience in the personnel field; seven years progressively responsible work in the personnel field; or any appropriate combination of education and experience. PHR certification or similar preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration, effective communication skills both verbal and written, and the ability to relate well to others.
- Knowledge of state regulations on hiring practices.
- Must be able to work under stressful situations, as this position occasionally deals with unhappy or angry employees, and to cope with multiple interruptions.
- Must be skilled in accurate data entry, have an organized filing system, practice wise time management, and meticulous record keeping.
- 10-key punch, word processing, data entry, general computer skills, email, internet, spreadsheets, etc.
- Must be knowledgeable of workers compensation and other employment law.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate trustworthiness and reason when dealing with emotional topics. Contributes to building a positive team. Treats people with respect and tact.
- Must possess critical-thinking and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work well with team members and foster an environment of teamwork.
Material and Equipment used, but not limited to:
- General office equipment: including phone, fax, copier, adding machine and computer.
Working Environment/Physical Activities:
- Sits at a desk in an office environment. Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
- Frequently will be reaching, bending, and occasionally stretching. Occasionally lifts 0-50 pounds.
- Must deal with sensitive staff issues and multiple interruptions.
- Performs keyboarding tasks for a significant portion of the workday.
Working Hours:
- General office hours, Monday-Friday.
