Position Summary
The Team Lead is responsible for efficiently coordinating and verifying the day-to-day shipping and receiving operations within the warehouse. This role supports the Operations Management team by executing the daily work plan to meet production goals and ensure accuracy. Additional responsibilities include coaching associates on proper techniques and procedures to maintain safety and quality standards.
The Team Lead must be proficient in training associates on operational functions, including the proper use of RF devices. Responsibilities also include managing the sign-out process for tools, equipment, and supplies (including RF and material handling equipment), and assisting with facility audits and enforcement of housekeeping standards. This role may act as the Operations Manager in their absence due to special projects, vacations, or other assignments.

Key Responsibilities
Operations
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Operations Manager and warehouse associates.
- Coordinate and execute daily shipping and receiving work orders.
- Assign and provide instructions to Desk Clerks and Warehouse Clerks.
- Verify shipping and receiving tallies for accuracy, including documentation and OSD (Overage, Shortage, and Damage) paperwork.
- Recommend operational improvements to the Operations Manager.
- Lead onboarding and training for new associates and team leads.
Labor Management
- Direct and guide Shipping and Receiving Clerks to meet operational objectives.
- Use effective communication and motivational techniques to manage personnel.
- Track work order start and stop times to help evaluate productivity and set benchmarks.
Equipment Management
- Allocate equipment to jobs and associates per direction from the Operations Manager.
- Ensure equipment is used properly and safely.
Internal Customer Service
- Collaborate closely with Customer Service and Desk Clerks to ensure timely completion of customer orders and adherence to all cut-off deadlines.
Shipping & Receiving Oversight
- Prioritize and coordinate tasks based on input from the Operations Manager and Desk Clerk.
- Verify accuracy of staged orders prior to shipment or receipt.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Promote a safe working environment and follow all safety regulations.
- Support quality initiatives and ensure team compliance.
General Support
- Perform tasks as needed to meet customer requirements and support company goals.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Warehousing and Distribution; a combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred.
- Proficient in typing and data entry.
