QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in engineering or technical field from four-year college or university required
- 2-3 years of experience in plastics processing or similar environments required.
- Must be experienced in mold set-ups, trouble shooting, and exposure to maintenance problems.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms.
- Three to four years of related work experience;
- Must be able to work and function in a team environment.Â
- Requires knowledge of mechanical reasoning related to understanding equipment, machinery and their primary functions.
- DOE and six sigma certification preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- Must be able to visually inspect parts produced; specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust to focus;
- Must be able to frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls;
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch;
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds;
- Must be available to work off shifts (afternoons and midnights).   Â
- Climbing, bending, stooping is done on frequent basis. Crawling or climbing into machinery is performed occasionally. A Process Technician is on foot for most of the shift. Ladders are permanent fixed to the machinery per OSHA guidelines and must be climbed occasionally.
- Once or twice per shift a nozzle tip must be removed. A pry bar is used which requires physical exertion.Â
- Infrequently a conveyor must be moved. This may happen twice per week. Lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds is required occasionally.
Manual Dexterity: Must use moderate speed and accuracy in operating machines and retrieving parts.
Physical Effort: Work requires moderate to heavy physical exertion with above average weight materials or equipment.
Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts;
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles in a climate-controlled environment;
- Works where the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Hazards: Possibility of accidents of a serious nature.
