Description: This is an exciting time for the Park Ridge Park District, Oakton Sports Complex will soon be re-opening its doors to the newly renovated facility. Come work at the new state of the art facility and be part of the excitement. We are looking for an enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team at the Oakton Ice Arena as Skate Guards! As a Skate Guard, you’ll ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all public skating patrons by enforcing rink rules, assisting guests on the ice, and providing top-notch customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise public skating sessions to ensure participant safety
- Monitor skaters and enforce facility rules with fairness and professionalism
- Assist skaters with falls or injuries and report incidents as necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe ice surface (may include assisting with ice resurfacing procedures)
- Provide skate checks and equipment assistance
- Answer questions and assist with general customer service
- Support other rink operations as needed
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Ice skating ability required (hockey or figure skating experience is a plus!)
- Friendly, approachable, and safety-conscious
- Ability to stay alert and attentive in a fast-paced environment
- CPR/First Aid certification within first 3 months of employment (Training provided)
Availability: Weeknights and weekends. Schedules vary.
