NOTE: Well-Being Activity Coordinator positions are different from Home Care Aide positions and not intended for someone looking for full-time work.  Limited hours to start with room to grow!

Well-Being Activity Coordinator Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years experience as a personal assistant, activity coordinator, or Home Care Aide, preferably with the aging population or related work
  • Understanding and compassion for the care needs of aging clients
  • Experience working with people with dementia or mental health challenges is highly preferred
  • Background or degree in social work, recreational, art, or play therapy preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with web-based communication platforms such as Zoom, FaceTime, etc.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to learn and use designated software programs for workflow processes
  • Ability to use a laptop computer, tablet, and/or smartphone
  • Ability to work independently as well as under supervision
  • Competence implementing individualized activity plans designed by Well Being Program Coordinator
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent people skills; ability to connect and engage with a wide range of individuals.
  • A car available for daily work and client transportation and automobile insurance as required by the State of California
  • Exercise and Fitness Well-Being Activity Coordinators must have one or more of the following certifications: Certified Health Coach (CHC), Certified Medical Exercise Specialist (CMEC), Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist (CFNS), Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), or equivalent

Well-Being Activity Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Follow joy plan created by Well-Being Program Coordinator
  • Carry out a variety of social/recreational activities aimed at improving the client’s quality of life and bringing them joy
  • Carry out art or music-based activities within assisted living facilities and client’s homes
  • Assist with exercise and fitness, if appropriate
  • Escort to medical appointments 
  • Tech/computer support for aging individuals with limited computer skills
  • Arrange & accompany to cultural experiences (i.e., museums, theater, concerts)

You will need:

  • A valid CA driver's license
  • Must purchase and pass Livescan background check prior to employment. (Guardian registration will be provided by the agency, once the background check clears)

COVID-19:

  • Our program caters to a higher-risk population.  
  • Therefore, you will also need to:
  • Wear face covering at all times with clients, remain 6ft apart as much as possible, wash hands often; avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands; and frequently clean and disinfect surfaces, including vehicle interior if transporting client.
  • Follow additional Lifespan and local Public Health Department COVID-19 protocols and mandates 
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination if applicable
