How You’ll Make a Difference (Essential Functions)
The position lead housekeeper is responsible for ensuring infection control and prevention throughout the Agrace facilities by following best practices for cleaning and healthcare standards with a focus on quality, communication, and service excellence. Lead Housekeeper is expected to complete or work to coordinate the completion of floor care, room set-ups, and special requests as needed. Lead Housekeeper works in tandem with the Housekeeping Manager to ensure staffing coverage on a daily basis and in bi-weekly payroll approval. Lead Housekeeper works in tandem with the Housekeeping Manager to field and distribute incoming housekeeping work orders. Lead Housekeeper also assists the housekeeping manager in training new hires and coaching existing team members on quality issues.

Key Responsibilities
- Housekeeping (Percentage of time: 80%)
- Clean areas of the facilities.
- Follow written policies, procedures, and protocols when cleaning.
- Follow manufacturer’s instructions for safe usage and handling of products and equipment.
- Ensure that the assigned housekeeping cart, closet, and supplies are kept clean and stocked at all times.
- Order housekeeping supplies.
- Ensure trash, recycling, and confidential materials are collected and correctly disposed of.
- Complete assigned work orders for housekeeping tasks such as floor care and room set-up.
- Report damaged finishes, furniture, and equipment for maintenance follow-up.
- Assist with development of housekeeping schedules to ensure that workload assignments are assigned appropriately. Monitor and communicate the schedule and assignments to the team.
- Monitor, distribute and close out work orders in CMMS.
- Quality & Service Excellence (Percentage of time: 15%)
- Collaborate with IPU Staff to ensure room cleanliness and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with the overall comfort, appearance, and cleanliness of the facilities.
- Monitor housekeeping team for consistent quality standards and reports issues to the manager. Â Work on plan of correction with the Housekeeping Manager.
- Mentor and coach new hire team members.
- Other Duties (Percentage of time: 5%)
- Participate in internal work groups, meetings and committees relative to position responsibilities.
- Check email and electronic calendar regularly.
- Utilize payroll system to approve timesheets and assist housekeepers with timesheet corrections in manager’s absence.
- Participate in emergency operations plans, specifically fire and tornado safety.
- Understand and perform daily security rounds.
- Provide snow removal support.

You Bring (Qualifications)
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Minimum of one year experience in healthcare housekeeping setting preferred.
- Must be 1.0 FTE.
- Must be based in Madison Agrace office
- Beginning Microsoft Office Suite skills.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries with patients, families and co-workers.
- Experience using industry specific software.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to be flexible in time and task to meet organizational needs.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality about patients, families, caregivers, staff, donors, and organizational intellectual property.
- Ability to work at various Agrace locations.
- Ability to use proper body mechanics and standard precautions.
