GENERAL DESCRIPTION

VSI, a trusted leader in animal health distribution and services, is seeking a qualified and customer-focused Field Technician to join our growing team. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various types of equipment across customer sites, ensuring optimal functionality and customer satisfaction. Located in North Carolina!

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Install new equipment and test systems to ensure proper operation.
  • Diagnose mechanical and technical issues using diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Perform routine and corrective maintenance on a variety of equipment types.
  • Educate customers on system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, parts usage, and customer interactions.
  • Identify root causes of equipment issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Prioritize daily workload independently or as part of a team.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, supervisors, and colleagues.
  • Support general warehouse operations and other assigned tasks as needed.
  • Represent VSI with a high standard of professionalism and reliability at all times.
  • Participate in required staff meetings and company training sessions.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed based on business needs.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The employee must have demonstrated experience and/or education as outlined below in order to satisfactorily perform the essential job duties and responsibilities. Qualifications may include, but are not limited, to:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current vehicle registration required.
  • Must obtain Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to perform hands-on equipment repairs.
  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and smart devices.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively, multitask, and maintain detailed documentation.
  • High level of professionalism, ethical conduct, and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment.
