Join a mission-driven team focused on empowering refugee youth through individualized support, mentorship, and career planning. As a Youth Career Pathways Specialist, you’ll guide newly resettled youth in Maryland toward education, employment, and long-term self-sufficiency.


Core Responsibilities

  • Maintain a caseload of up to 30 refugee youth

  • Conduct intakes, assessments, and create Individual Service Plans (ISPs)

  • Match clients with volunteer mentors for career and personal development

  • Provide ongoing case management and community referrals

  • Offer career counseling and vocational training support

  • Coordinate with area agencies and request financial assistance as needed

  • Track progress and outcomes using data systems

  • Submit timely reports to meet program goals

 

 

 

Qualifications


What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, international studies, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management tools

  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Fluency in a second language (Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Spanish) is highly preferred

  • Must be comfortable with local travel (50–75%)
