Description

All Lines Technology is seeking an IT Assistant to provide first-line technical support and routine technology maintenance across the organization under the direction of the Director of Information Technology. This position focuses on end-user support, device deployment, and basic troubleshooting to keep daily technology operations running smoothly. Advanced network, server, and phone-system tasks are handled by or in collaboration with the Director; the IT Assistant supports and learns from those efforts.

This is a hands-on, on-site role ideal for someone looking to build a career in educational technology while gaining experience with a variety of systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide help-desk support to staff and students through the internal ticketing system.
  • Deploy, set up, and collect student iPads, Apple TVs, and other classroom technologies; assist with Mobile Device Management (MDM) tasks.
  • Perform basic network support such as verifying connections, swapping cables, and escalating issues to the Director.
  • Cleanly terminate and test RJ-45 cables as directed.
  • Assist with routine maintenance on Windows and Linux systems as assigned.
  • Support printing and copying equipment (replace toner, clear jams, escalate service calls).
  • Assist with the Avaya phone system under the Director’s guidance.
  • Provide basic support for Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Assist with Google Workspace for Education account or password issues.
  • Document steps and solutions in the internal knowledge base.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that are consistent with entry-level IT support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
  • Effective communication with staff, students, and administrators.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and handle routine support tasks.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Prior IT experience in a public school, higher education, or institutional environment.
  • CompTIA A+ or similar entry-level certification.
  • Familiarity with iPads, MacBooks, and iMacs in MDM environments.

Note: The organization is willing to train the right in-house candidate who demonstrates aptitude and a strong work ethic, in lieu of prior experience with all of the above technologies.

Working Conditions

  • Position is on-site at organizational facilities (single campus).
  • Occasional ladder use (<25% of work time).
  • Noise levels vary from low (classrooms, offices) to moderate (cafeterias, gyms).
  • Rare after-hours work may be needed for emergencies or upgrades.
