About The Position:
The Social Worker provides social-emotional and behavioral support services in the educational setting to enable students to achieve optimal learning to qualifying students within the special education/504 plan setting and general education setting. In addition, as part of the school team, the Social Worker collaborates with other leaders to develop school-wide health and wellness education and prevention programming. This 10-month, full-time role will report to the Director of Student Health and Wellness.
You Will:
- Provide supportive services to students within the special education/504 Plan setting and general education setting, including but not limited to: group therapy, individual therapy, crisis assessment and intervention, and assessment and referral for community-based agencies;
- Collaborate with the Director of Health and Wellness to develop school-wide health and wellness education and prevention programming;
- Collaborate with the Attendance and Family Engagement Coordinator and other community partners to provide intervention and support for students with inconsistent school attendance and track effectiveness of services;
- Participate and actively contribute to all multi- and inner-disciplinary student support team meetings;
- Provide assessment, case management, individual and group evidence-based interventions to students and families to improve student social, emotional, behavioral, and academic success;
- Collaborate with families by sharing relevant resources, building a strong home-school connection, and making effective referrals to community agencies;
- Act as liaison for community partners in their provision of services on campus;
- Adhere to the ethics and values of the Social Work profession and practice according to the NASW Code of Ethics and IDEA regulations; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
