We're looking for a detail-driven, results-oriented Digital Shelf Content Specialist to help us stand out on the digital shelf. Location: Downtown Mobile, AL                               

Full-time; Non-exempt – Day Shift           

Reports to: Manager of Digital Merchandising

 

Essential Functions of the Role

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Audit and validate incoming product content and assets from suppliers for completeness, accuracy, brand consistency, and online effectiveness.
  • Analyze existing product catalog content to identify improvement opportunities for SEO, readability, and conversion.
  • Conduct best-practice research to ensure top-tier product content strategy.
  • Monitor and review live listings across retailer sites (e.g., Staples, Michaels, Office Depot, etc.) to ensure accuracy and alignment with standards.
  • Implement SEO keyword strategies to improve organic product visibility across retailer search engines.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (vendors, graphic designer, etc.) to enhance product content and imagery.
  • Maintain content accuracy in internal product information systems (PIM tools).
  • Support item onboarding processes for assigned retailer accounts, including submitting new products via retailer portals and template
  • Optimize content for each retailer platform based on their specific guidelines, algorithms, and customer behaviors.
  • Track and troubleshoot item setup issues to ensure products are published and performing on-site.
  • Maintain documentation of content processes, workflows, and retailer requirements.
  • Track digital shelf KPIs (e.g., content health score, product findability, organic traffic, etc.) and report on performance improvements.
  • Stay up to date with e-commerce platform trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Assist in the maintenance and management of content in PIM systems, ensuring consistent data hygiene.
  • Provide support during new product launches and seasonal updates.

Qualifications

Core Competencies

Skills, Talents, Personal Attributes and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, E-commerce, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent professional experience in digital content management or retail e-commerce may also be considered.
  • 2-4 years of experience in e-commerce, digital merchandising, or product content management, preferably in an online retail environment.
  • Strong understanding of digital shelf strategies, SEO for retail, and online shopping behavior.
  • Experience with retailer portals (e.g., Amazon Vendor Central, Veyer Vendor Portal, Walmart Item 360, Target Partners Online, etc.).
  • Familiarity with PIM systems and Excel-based onboarding templates.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and data accuracy.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with content management and analytics platforms (e.g., Profitero, Syndigo, Salsify, or similar tools). 
  • HTML knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience using Microsoft Teams and Outlook in a professional setting.
