Job Title: Driver / Building Maintenance


Department: Administrative

Reports To: Facilities Supervisor / Administrator

FLSA Status: Non Exempt

SUMMARY


Drives transportation van to and from various Ocala Eye   

locations. Transportation of clinical and surgical patients for clinical and surgical procedures. Maintains Ocala Eye owned buildings in orderly, safe, and clean condition, maintains basic functions of plant operations. Performs maintenance procedures on external functions of buildings. ‘These functions are accomplished by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.


Other duties may be assigned by the supervisory / management team.


Assists passengers to enter and leave transportation van in safe manner.



Performs miscellaneous task such as delivering correspondence to and from various Ocala Eye offices.



Keeps van clean, and in safe operating condition and facilitates needed repairs.



Maintains interior building functions such as:


     -A/C heating units (Filter exchange! cleaning, and minor repairs)

     -Minor plumbing replacement or repairs

     -Lighting functions (Bulb and ballast replacement)

     -Prep and paint areas as needed


Maintains external building functions such as:


     - Minor sprinkler system maintenance and repair

     - Lighting and sign maintenance

     - Regular inspection of landscaping and lawn conditions, informing supervisor when attention needed.


Facilitates repairs with vendors if beyond capabilities

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related

experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 


LANGUAGE SKILLS


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance

instructions, and procedure manuals, Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


REASONING ABILITY


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:


Applicant must have a valid Florida Department of Motor vehicle drivers license. Commercial driver’s license preferred. Must have no moving violations present during driven license back round check

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, Employee must be able to speak and hear effectively. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision correctable to 20 / 20 in both eyes, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.



 Work Environment:  Most work is accomplished during normal working hours but must be willing to work some nights and weekends when required. Facilities employee’s will be issued a company cell phone and are required to answer them during off hours for emergency situations. At the supervisors discretion if an employee must come in after hours or on the weekend the employee will be paid a two hour minimum.




While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places while utilizing ladder or while on roof top.




Vacation: All vacations must be scheduled in advance and approved by the supervisor. Only one facilities employee is allowed to take off at a time.
