Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, the security guard maintains a safe and secure environment for our employees, visitors, and assets. The Security Guard will be tasked with patrolling the premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, and responding to security incidents.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Patrol and Surveillance:
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure a visible security presence.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to detect and prevent unauthorized access or activities.
- Report any suspicious behavior, incidents, or safety hazards promptly.
- May intervene in any conflicts, verbal or physical
Emergency Response:
- Respond to emergencies, including but not limited to, medical incidents, fire alarms, and security breaches.
- Follow established protocols for emergency situations and provide assistance as needed.
Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service to employees, visitors, and clients.
- Assist with directions, information, and inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
Report Writing:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of security-related activities, including incident reports and daily logs.
- Submit reports to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
Collaboration with Authorities:
- Collaborate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency services as necessary
- Provide support and information during investigations
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make quick and accurate decisions under pressure.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a security guard or relevant position.
- Knowledge of basic security and safety procedures.
- Excellent observation and communication skills.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
- Basic computer skills for operating surveillance equipment.
- Security Guard license/certification as required by local regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical fitness and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- This role involves working in various weather conditions and may require evening, weekend, or holiday shifts.
- May also be required to stand or walk for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs.
