Description

Hadco Construction is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our growing Small Commercial Division. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a Construction Management degree who wants hands-on experience supporting a variety of small to mid-sized commercial construction projects. The Project Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager, Superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution, from preconstruction through close-out.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Assist with preconstruction planning, permitting, and project startup activities
  • Track and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders, ensuring timely resolution
  • Support procurement of materials and subcontracts, including coordination of deliveries
  • Help maintain and update project schedules, including 3-week lookahead planning
  • Perform regular job site visits to support field teams and monitor project progress, safety, and quality
  • Coordinate meetings, maintain accurate meeting minutes, and follow up on action items
  • Support the Project Manager with budget tracking, invoice review, and cost reporting
  • Maintain organized project documentation in accordance with Hadco standards
  • Assist with punch list management and close-out processes including warranties and as-builts
  • Promote a culture of safety and teamwork on every job site

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • 2 years of relevant construction experience; internships or co-op experience strongly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites in the region
