Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Effectively manage and coordinate all aspects of daily C-Store operations.
  • Plan, schedule, supervise and participate in all C-Store work including, but not limited to: staff supervision, staff direction, merchandising, ordering, pricing, displaying, selling and maintaining inventory.
  • Ensure proper distribution of assignments.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, space and facilities for performance of required tasks.
  • Train new and existing C-Store employees.
  • Recommend and participate in various personnel functions including, but not limited to: hiring, scheduling, performance appraisals, promotions and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain fuel takes at adequate levels and monitor standards.
  • Perform duties of C-Store staff as needed.
  • Assist in the development of C-Store budget;
  • Monitor, verify and reconcile expenses against revenues to ensure compliance with established budget.
  • Recommend and implement appropriate action to eliminate budget variances.
  • Make recommendations for increased savings, reduced costs, maximum utilization of resources and improved services.
  • Recommend changes in selling prices as needed.
  • Determine merchandise to carry/discontinue based on market trends, research, customer preferences and vendor terms.
  • Recommend and initiate marketing, advertising and promotional activities.
  • Establish and maintain effective customer relations.
  • Determine stock requirements for C-Store, and order sufficient quantities of merchandise in a timely manner.
  • Prepare specifications for merchandise purchases.
  • Monitor receiving of goods.
  • Maintain inventory control within store to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Establish and monitor store security policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and control all funds and cash operations including, but not limited to: distributing cash to registers, maintaining change fund, ensuring all funds are accounted for, accurately recorded, and secured, maintaining accurate records to include sales data, purchase orders, invoices and special orders.
  • Prepare operational reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations and conclusions.
  • Works with Sales & Marketing for guests promotions.
  • Develop, recommend and implement policies and procedures related to store operations.
  • Propose procurement of equipment and facilities instrumental to operations.
  • Keep abreast of new and changing techniques in the field of retail services.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-year Associates degree, equivalent work experience, or a combination of the two.
  • 3-5 years of experience in convenience store management preferred.

  • Mobility throughout the facility.
  • Able to lift heavy loads of 30-50 pounds.
