JOB EXPECTATIONS
- Represent the company by practicing highest-quality customer service; including respectful treatment of all customers and staff.
- Offer helpful, innovative suggestions to help improve processes within the department.
- Maintain well-groomed appearance and acceptable dress in compliance with GILSCC’s dress guidelines. (See Handbook policy 172)
- Uses correct lifting and material handling techniques.
- Ensure compliance with all GILSCC’s policies, CARF standards, and state safety and security regulations.
- Must provide identification and eligibility to work in the United States of America.
- Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug-screening test, and subsequent drug screenings as required.
- Must exercise good judgment.
- Be flexible in work assignment to accommodate changing production demands.
- Must have sufficient command of the English language to communicate with customers, co-workers and supervisors.
- Reports for scheduled work regularly and on time. Notifies supervisor as soon as possible regarding the need and expected duration of any absence.
- Must be able to perform essential functions of the Material Handler/Baler-Box Truck Driver’s job description task analysis with or without accommodation.
- Must be able to follow written or verbal instructions.
- Must be able to work all hours of operations and be able to work a flexible schedule.
- Must be able to read and write.
- Must be able communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
- Must be able to function independently and as part of a team.

EXPERIENCE
Forklift experience desirable or ability to become Goodwill forklift certified.
EDUCATION
Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Oregon or Alaska driver’s license and have an insurable driving record. Must be able to obtain the Medical Examiner's certification to be physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle. Must have a valid Driver License, preferably a CDL Class A or B.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Indoor and outdoor working conditions with exposure to all weather. Moderate adaptability required: Work environment is mostly hectic (fast paced) with irregular short deadlines and limited number of critical or unusual situations. May be exposed to dust if working in a warehouse setting. Driving hazards as a driver of company vehicle. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
