About this job:
A Contract Service Data Analyst is responsible for working with the bank’s contracted relationships and bank management to ingest, prepare, store, manage, analyze, and visualize the data received from both internal and external sources to facilitate the bank’s BIN Sponsorship program. This role is responsible for performing various forms of operational, financial, credit analysis and compliance based (assisting compliance team with their data and trends) analysis on existing and prospective BIN Sponsored relationships. The Contract Services Data Analyst will be responsible for assessing and monitoring the BIN portfolio performance as a whole and for each relationship. Duties will also include managing databases related to information received from Contract Service Relationship and using that data to develop and produce reports to be used by Management.
As a Contract Services Data Analyst you will:
- This position is responsible for discovering insights and solving problems using statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques
- Create and update executive reports, analyze trends, automated forecasting, and modeling
- Build scalable dashboards from multiple data sources
- Use statistical methods to analyze data and generate useful business reports
- Write code that automates the ingestion and preparation of data from internal and external sources (preferred)
- Remove corrupted data and fix coding errors and related problems
- Troubleshoot the reporting database environments and reports
- Integrate data from different databases, internal and external including relationships, as well as, regulatory bodies, and design system end-to-end flow charts and diagrams
- Manage databases, following data management best practices (preferred)
- Provide quality assurance of imported data, working with other departments (Compliance, Operations, audit, etc.) if necessary
- Process confidential data and information according to guidelines
- Work with management team to create a prioritized list of needs
- Prepare presentations, conduct research and maintain quality of database systems
- Assist in initial due diligence and ongoing due diligence regarding potential new contract service relationships as needed i.e. analyzing financial data, portfolio information, etc.
Qualifications for Success:
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or related field from an accredited University with 0-3 years of experience in analytics, or 3+ years’ experience in analytics
- Understanding of or experience building statistical models and predictive models
- Ability to learn new quantitative domains and modeling techniques
- Strong understanding of Python for data analysis and modeling, including experience with standard data science packages (numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, etc.)
- Experience pulling data from relational databases (SQL Server, MS Access, or similar)
- Experience building dashboards using Tableau or similar data visualization tool
- An interest in credit modelling
- Self-starter, interest for developing the best possible solutions to problems
Highly preferred but not required:
- Prior Experience in Credit Card/Private Label industry
- Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud platforms
- Experience with Salesforce
