REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Â
- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field, or a minimum of four years of supervisory experience in sustainability administration.
- Experience managing a sustainability department including the supervision of staff and/or volunteers.
- Experience in developing and supporting corporate, non-profit, or NGO sustainability goals, including establishing a framework for achieving key objectives.
- Knowledge of high-performance building systems, energy efficiency, and conservation; LEED Green Associate certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with Federal, State, and Local incentive and rebate programs for energy efficiency, with the ability to interpret relevant regulations.
- Proven experience in grant writing and successfully managing applications through project completion.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver public presentations and professionally represent the ski area.
- Understanding of ski area operations and the ability to quickly learn departmental functions and interrelationships.
- Knowledge of public transit scheduling or administration.
- Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively, fostering effective relationships with managers, staff, vendors, officials, and the public.
- Proficiency in preparing and presenting sustainability reports, with experience in at least one sustainability reporting framework.
SUPERVISION:
- Supervision Given:Â Supervises sustainability and transit employees.
- Supervision Received: Â Reports to the General Manager. Receive assignments as directed, with clear expectations, available guidance, and periodic performance reviews as needed or during annual check-ins.Â
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Â
- Outdoor:Â May work or travel regularly in wet, cold, and rapidly changing winter conditions, requiring protective apparel and equipment to prevent exposure.
- May need to walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.Â
- Indoor:Â
- Ability to stand, type and sit at a desk/computer executing repetitive movements.
- Works primarily in a temperature-controlled office under controlled and natural lighting.
- Works near other employees and guests throughout the shift.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS:Â
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend, lift or be on your feet for extended periods of time.Â
- May move equipment weighing up to 30 lbs. Â
- Learning new tasks, remembering processes, maintaining focus, completing tasks independently, ability to communicate effectively with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that require speed and efficiency.Â
