Basic Responsibilities:

The New Mexico 988 Outreach Coordinator is responsible for The New Mexico 988 Outreach Coordinator supports statewide community engagement by managing logistics, and outreach efforts to ensure consistent, professional representation of 988 services.

 

The New Mexico 988 Outreach Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting community engagement initiatives throughout the state. This position provides essential logistical, administrative, and operational support for outreach events, ensuring consistent and professional representation of New Mexico 988 services. The Outreach Coordinator contributes to strengthening community relationships, enhancing visibility, and ensuring effective documentation and reporting of outreach efforts. The role helps maintain continuity across statewide outreach activities, supporting internal staff by managing scheduling, inventory, and event operations.

 

Typical Duties:

Event Support

  • Setup and breakdown of booths and tables at outreach events.
  • Serve as an on-site logistics point of contact during events.

 

Material Management

  • Track inventory of promotional and educational materials.
  • Coordinate the ordering and restocking of supplies.
  • Maintain and organize event supplies and outreach kits to ensure readiness for events.

 

Documentation & Reporting

  • Record and track attendance and engagement data at events.
  • Document event photos, feedback, and outcomes for internal sharing.
  • Contribute to monthly or quarterly outreach activity reports to support evaluation, grant reporting, and storytelling. Scheduling & Coordination
  • Help manage the outreach calendar and event scheduling.
  • Coordinate with community partners and event organizers.
  • Assist in planning for high-volume events or regional travel, ensuring timely preparation and participation.
  • Coordinate and train Protocall staff to support events as needed.
  • Assist in managing info@nmcrisisline.com inbox and responding to community requests.

 

Managing and Maintaining Social Media

  • Work with an external marketing agency to approve social media posts
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure messaging consistency across platforms.

Requirements for the New Mexico 988 Outreach Coordinator

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience in behavioral health or crisis services. Experience working within behavioral health, crisis services, or social services settings preferred. Skills and Competencies
  • Strong organizational and logistical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace tools.
  • Proficiency in managing and creating content for social media platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, especially in inventory tracking and documentation. Additional Requirements
  • Ability to travel regionally within New Mexico, including occasional overnight trips.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift event materials (up to 30 lbs).

 

Preferred Experiences:

  • Previous experience as a Counselor or Peer Support Specialist with Protocall Services or another 988/warmline call center.
  • Previous experience supporting NMCAL at events and trainings.
  • Knowledgeable about New Mexico.
  • Experience with community outreach, event planning, marketing or related fields.
