Quality Inspector

The Quality Inspector works with the quality manager, production managers, materials and stockroom personnel as well as production personnel performing and documenting final inspections and in process inspections on various power electronics parts, sub assemblies and products. The Quality Inspector will also oversee the inspection of parts and materials that require incoming inspection. This role also includes leading or mentoring other inspectors in incoming inspection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform inspections:

Conduct thorough inspections of products, components, and materials using various tools and methods to identify defects and non-conformances. 

• Document and report:

Maintain detailed records of inspection results, including non-conformances, corrective actions, and data analysis. 

• Assist with quality improvement:

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement improvements to processes and products. 

• Lead and mentor:

Supervise, train, and guide junior quality inspectors, ensuring they are performing inspections accurately and efficiently. 

• Maintain compliance:

Stay updated on quality standards, industry regulations, and company procedures. 

• Ensure product traceability:

Track and document the movement of materials and products throughout the inspection process. 

• Utilize quality tools and software:

Proficiency in using quality inspection tools, FARO software, and electronic databases for data collection, analysis, and reporting. 

Skills/Qualifications:

• Technical skills:

Strong knowledge of quality control principles, inspection methodologies, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001). 

• Attention to detail:

Ability to identify subtle defects and ensure products meet quality requirements. 

• Communication skills:

Ability to effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders. 

• Organizational skills:

Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines. 

• Experience:

Typically requires 5+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality control, with a focus on inspection processes in a manufacturing environment. 

• Education:

A high school diploma is required, and an associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., engineering, technology) preferred.
