CLINICAL COORDINATOR - NURSING

 The Clinical Coordinator is a full-time position reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer(CNO) with dotted line to the Assistant/Associate Director of Nursing (ADON) at each location assigned and is a member of the Nursing Program Leadership Team. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the components related to the clinical aspects of the curriculum, in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing standards so the students have the optimum learning environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Secure, set up and monitor clinical sites in conjunction with Associate Directors of Nursing at assigned locations. Establish cooperative working relationships with key contacts at the sites.
  • Onboard students to clinical sites and maintain proper recordkeeping and documents as requested by the sites for the students
  • Work with the Nursing Program Leadership team to coordinate scheduling of clinicals with scheduling of courses
  • Coordinate and facilitate all facets of the clinical setting, including but not limited to: Provide training to faculty, staff, and students pertaining to clinicals, in accordance with the Ohio Administrative Code 4723-5-20
  • Recordkeeping, Scheduling
  • Maintain health and safety precautions for faculty, staff, and students
  • Gather student medical records and maintaining a system to ensure CPR, TB, and other health requirements are up-to-date
  •  Ensure all OBN regulations related to the clinical experience are adhered to by faculty
  •  Conducts site visits and assist in clinical faculty evaluations, in collaboration with the Associate Director of Nursing for that Ross location
  •  Assure that site documentation related to accreditation, such as ABHES Site Visit Summaries, are kept current as needed § Maintain the clinical affiliation agreements (adhere to expiration/renewals)
  •  Maintain clinical site database with contact information and details
  •  Knowledge of nursing skills; lab equipment, teaching and instruction methods and practices; record keeping procedures
  • Assists in obtaining and maintaining cooperating agency contracts
  • Assist with issues at the clinical sites and support clinical faculty with student/site concerns. Bring issues/concerns to the attention of the ADON or CNO
  • Other duties as assigned

The Clinical Coordinator will have teaching responsibilities from time to time to provide coverage and/or work with new instructions.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience:

• Associate of Nursing degree (or higher completed education/degree) with an active and unencumbered Registered Nurse License in the State of Ohio. BSN preferred

• Two years of experience as a professional nurse providing direct patient care.

• Background check required for employment, including driving license

• Protection of student and/or employee privacy is expected in the handling of confidential and/or financial information.

• Protection of the corporation and privacy of corporate proprietary and confidential information is expected

• Sufficient ability to stand for extended periods of time, move around the building and classroom to satisfy student needs and/or facilitate student participation. • Ability to use current technology to maintain student records

• Ability to achieve or maintain credential and/or licensure within expected time frames

• Adhere to Ross Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics

• Clinical Coordinators need to have ability to travel to visit clinical sites or other meetings

• Prior teaching or formal tutoring experience using a developed curriculum, preferred

• Perform related work as required
