Description

The Prevention Program Manager assures Prevention programs are developed, implemented and managed in accordance with the contractual requirements.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform the day-to-day assigned program management activities to assist in creating an integrated system of care and ensure contractual requirements are being met by:
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all program areas as evidenced by regular, effective, and ongoing communication with external and internal stakeholders regarding: Program Descriptions, Funding Sources, Funding and Service Utilization, the use of Collaborative Planning Group, and Contractual Requirements
  • Represent CFBHN and/or chair community stakeholder, funder and provider meetings assigned
  • Assure programmatic outcomes are being met by creating and disseminating required programmatic reports to funders, providers and CFBHN management, and evaluating how the outcomes are impacting required performance measures.
  • Work collaboratively with internal CFBHN departments; IT, Contracts, Finance, and QI to refine and report required data.
  • Understand deliverables and provide feedback on how programs can improve or maintain performance.
  • Working closely with CFBHN Contracts, Finance, and Quality Improvement to be familiar with all contracts, laws, attachments, and exhibits pertinent to the program area, and any associated changes
  • Utilize tracking mechanisms to ensure requirements are met for program area, ongoing.
  • Provide programmatic technical assistance and training, both internal and external.
  • Be available to provide overview, technical assistance, and training for the program area, as needed.
  • Provide technical assistance training to CFBHN staff, as requested, and to network service providers as deemed necessary or as required.
  • Responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating activities related to the coalition’s Exhibit A2 Deliverables. This includes providing oversight for coalition operations and associated projects, managing the full grant lifecycle (development, submission, and administration), fulfilling state and national reporting requirements, and offering technical assistance to local and regional coalitions.
  • Conduct literature/resource reviews to identify best practices for coalitions and providers of prevention services.
  • Support coalition members in conducting annual strategic planning and facilitating the development of a comprehensive action plan informed by needs assessments.
  • Collaborate with coalition stakeholders to design and implement data collection methods, tools, and evaluation measures to assess the effectiveness of coalition activities and related projects.
  • Serve as coordinator/health planner for coalition by coordinating prevention-specific activities for CFBHN funded providers.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience

  • Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of five years of behavioral health program management experience
  • Previous experience managing Prevention program a plus

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Position Specific

  • In-depth understanding of Florida public mental health/substance abuse system, including treatment protocols and system of care principles and values, to assure contractual compliance
  • In-depth knowledge of funder contractual requirements
  • Solid working relationship with funders and providers
  • Understanding of the (SPF) Strategic Prevention Framework and Prevention Database
  • Knowledge of Block Grants

 

General

  • Strong oral communication and business writing skills 
  • Ability to represent CFBHN professionally at funder, provider and community venues
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite as applicable to the position
  • Ability to travel as required by the position
