Description

  • Provide comprehensive patient-centered care for patients with substance use disorders, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
  • Conduct assessments and screenings for substance use disorders and related mental health conditions
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate a range of therapeutic approaches, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT), behavioral therapies, prevention and harm reduction education, and counseling
  • Collaborate, in partnership with patients, with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, peer support specialists, social workers, and nurses, to deliver integrated care
  • Document care in the EHR
  • Provide necessary documentation to billing staff
  • Order and interpret lab work, consult with physician, and act on abnormalities
  • Educate patients and their families about addiction, treatment options, and strategies for recovery
  • Communicate with other professionals and possibly families as needed
  • Follow the six rights of medication administration to reduce potential for medication errors
  • Stay current with the latest research and developments in psychiatric and addiction medicine to provide evidence-based care
  • Maintain PMHP continuing education and other agency-required continuing education

Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from an accredited institution
  • Current NP license and PMHNP certification
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Active DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) and BNDD (Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs—State of Missouri)
  • Eligibility for or current enrollment in MO HealthNet (Missouri Medicaid)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medications, including psychotropic medications and knowledge of medications used in the treatment of substance use disorders
  • Strong clinical competencies and excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
  • Proficiency in electronic health record system and Microsoft Suite (preferred)

Applicant must live within 4 hours of ARCA facilities or be willing to relocate
