Overview:
Rifle Paper Co. is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Fulfillment to lead and optimize our end-to-end in fulfillment. This role will focus on ensuring the seamless execution of daily operations across fulfillment, logistics, scheduling, material planning, and order processing—while driving continuous process improvements to support scalability and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong business acumen, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a high-performing, inclusive team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop operational teams to ensure growth, performance, and alignment with company goals.
- Provide coaching and support to managers, and coordinate the development and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute strategic insights and solutions to organizational challenges and long-term planning.
- Design and implement scalable strategies that support business growth while maintaining operational excellence.
- Oversee the delivery and quality of goods to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
- Identify and recommend strategic investments in infrastructure, equipment, systems, and talent through data-driven analysis.
- Drive efficiency and effectiveness throughout the supply chain, implementing continuous cost-saving initiatives.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to optimize performance and cost.
- Foster a culture of safety, productivity, quality, and employee engagement across all operational areas.
- Align departmental priorities and resources to meet common goals and support company-wide initiatives.
- Champion employee development through recruitment, coaching, and performance management.
- Promote collaborative efforts between fulfillment and sales teams to deliver best-in-class customer service.
- Lead cross-functional teams in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives across departments.
- Stay ahead of market trends, customer needs, and labor dynamics through strategic collaboration with network leaders.
- Build leadership bench strength and succession planning by identifying and developing future leaders.
- Serve as a functional backup to individual managers and the Vice President of Operations, as needed.
- Apply strong financial and operational judgment to decision-making processes while ensuring proper authorization for actions.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years in fulfillment/operations management, with experience in high-SKU, seasonal fulfillment environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; advanced degree a plus.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, with experience in SAP strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of MRP, ERP processes, with demonstrated success in implementing process improvements.
- Expertise in logistics, raw materials, production, and distribution processes.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification/experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to represent Rifle Paper Co. professionally and with the appropriate tone.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
