The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading, managing, and executing all HR functions, including recruitment, staffing strategies, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, performance management, compliance, HRIS oversight, training and development, and employee engagement initiatives. This leadership role partners closely with executive and departmental leadership to ensure HR practices support the district’s mission, culture, and strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic direction for all HR functions and initiatives.

Partner with district leadership to align HR goals with organizational objectives.

Serve as a trusted advisor on all workforce-related matters.

Lead the full-cycle recruitment process for positions across the district.

Implement equitable and inclusive hiring practices.

Oversee onboarding and orientation to support successful new hire integration.

Serve as the primary resource for employee concerns, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations.

Coach and advise supervisors on employee performance, communication, and leadership.

Oversee employee engagement initiatives, including the Activities Committee and Wellness Committee.

Develop, administer, and continuously improve compensation and benefits programs.

Ensure offerings remain competitive and compliant with regulations.

Support employees with benefit-related questions and processes.

Oversee the development and implementation of training programs.

Manage performance evaluation processes and provide tools for supervisor success.

Lead recognition programs, engagement surveys, and retention efforts.

Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to improve workforce stability.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, FLSA, EEO, OSHA, etc.).

Maintain up-to-date HR policies and ensure organization-wide understanding.

Identify and mitigate HR-related risks.

Implement and support safety and OSHA compliance initiatives.

Oversee district-wide employee wellness programs.

Manage HRIS accuracy, reporting, and HR data analytics to support decision-making.
Qualifications
Education:
-
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.

Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field.
Experience:
-
Leadership experience in Human Resources, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, compensation, and HRIS systems.

Experience with wellness or safety initiatives preferred.

Healthcare HR experience is a plus but not required.
